At Hood Theological Seminary community lunches are seen as vital for Christian spiritual formation, a required component of the Master of Divinity program (ATS Degree Program Standard A.2.4) and a communal enterprise by definition (1 Cor. 12:12-26). For this reason, exemptions from community meal plans will be considered only for students whose physicians have recommended that they adhere to prescribed dietary restrictions or who have no classes scheduled on a community lunch day.

Catawba Bookstore

The Catawba College bookstore is providing textbook services for the Seminary.  Bookstore hours are Monday and Thursday 9 am - 6 pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am - 4 pm.  The store is closed Saturday and Sunday for regular hours but will be open Saturday, August 16 from 9 am - 4 pm to accomodate incoming students.  A website is under construction that will permit students to order books online and have them shipped or packaged for in-store pickup beginning Spring 2015.
The store offers a rental program that allows students to pay half of the new price for a book and simply return it at the end of the semester.  All that is required is a phone number, email address and a credit card with the student's name.  The store's location is immediately behind the Administration Building.  The store accepts all types of credit cards, checks and cash for payment.
