Description
This course will intensively examine eleven theories of counseling, along with contemporary and integrative therapies. In the application of theory, students will be challenged to develop a deeper understanding of the counseling process and the complex dynamics (personal and professional) involved in the counseling relationship. Students will bring together various approaches to develop their own therapeutic style, as well as integrate a pastoral counseling-oriented strategy into mainstream approaches to professional counseling and psychotherapy. Prerequisite: PTH 141.
