Please review the forms with employees and return the required documents to the financial aid and fiscal offices.These forms should be filed in the financial aid and fiscal offices as soon as possible.

Federal Work Study (FWS) Forms

Please review, sign, and return to the to the Financial Aid Office.  The signed agreement must be on file  before starting work.

Student Employment

Federal Work Study (FWS)

The Federal Work Study (FWS) Program is financial aid that is based on financial need and must be earned through student employment.  Work study does not mean you get paid to study, but rather work in real jobs and earn money to assist in covering educational expenses.  Work-Study students must satisfy the employer’s requirements to be hired and maintain the job while enrolled at the seminary. The amount you are expected to earn will be listed as part of your financial aid package.  



1.    Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet eligibility requirements. 

2.      The student must select “work-study” on the FAFSA in order to be eligible.

3.      Students must be enrolled for at least six semester hours.  

4.      Federal Work Study awards are need-based. The student’s cost of attendance (COA) must be greater than the Family Contribution (EFC). Awards may not exceed the student’s need.



  1. Students must be enrolled for at least six semester hours.
  2. Each student will be given a total number of working hours per semester.
  3. A copy of the student’s class schedule should be provided to the supervisor in order to plan a work schedule.
  4. Your supervisor will monitor your work schedule.
  5. Always inform your supervisor if you are not able to attend work for any reason.
  6. Employment is effective as of starting dates on the contract agreement. Do not start before or work after the contractual dates provided.
  7. Work study students are not entitled to sick leave, paid vacation or paid holidays.
  8. In order to continue employment under the Federal Work Study Program, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  9. Students who have been placed on Financial Aid suspension do not qualify for the Work Study Program.
