Description
This course studies psychological and theological ways to understand some of the dysfunctional personality structures encountered in the context of the church and community of our current society. The course will cover nine different personality styles and disorders and will include reading, lectures, case studies, and class presentations as a means of understanding some of the more difficult people found in our church and community. Additionally, we will explore some appropriate relational styles and pastoral interventions with each personality structure. This course is designed to increase understanding, and thereby enhance the minister’s skill to be more empathic and therapeutic in relating with some of the more troubled individuals in our church and community.
